Criniti's about us

Welcome to Criniti's

VOTED AUSTRALIA'S FAVOURITE ITALIAN

Traditional Italian meets contemporary dining at Criniti’s. A multi-award winner of ‘Australia’s Favourite Italian’.

Criniti's was originally founded in 2003 in Parramatta, in Sydney's west by an inspired husband and wife team, Frank and Rima Criniti. 23 years of age at the time, they were driven by a passion for fine quality food and cultivated success. Their yearning and hard driven aspirations developed dramatically over the years, which resulted in a popular spot amongst the locals. It didn't take long for the news to spread south, east and north of the border. Patrons travelled from all parts of Sydney to see what all "the fuss" was about. After much success and rave reviews Criniti's decided it was time to spread its wings east of the border. In August of 2009 it opened their doors in Sydney's east with an immaculate location in the world famous Harbourside Shopping Centre, fast becoming the pinnacle restaurant of Sydney's famous Darling Harbour. With breath taking views and ample open air terrace seating this location will please the most discerning of local and international.

In 2011, due to an overwhelming demand, Criniti's opened its doors in the Hills district of Sydney. Located in the famous Piazza in Castle Towers, the Matthew Darwin designed space includes spacious dining area for 350+ customers spread over 2 levels with a sophisticated mix of banquets and chairs to complement the rustic decor. Manly, Woolloomooloo, have opened there doors since followed by Carlton, (Melbourne), Kotara (Newcastle) and our latest addition Southbank (Melbourne). Criniti's specialises in traditional Southern Italian dishes, which today are rarely found in the oldest of Italian homes, offering customers a broad menu with an extensive choice. Open 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Criniti's is a place where you can truly explore and ignite your senses by trying many of our mouth watering dishes. The menu concentrates on the many regions of southern Italy and how the landscape and climate influence certain cuisines. Our passionate head chef leads a team driven to seek excellence. "Our philosophy is to seek the best ingredients, produced by like minded suppliers with consistency and sustainability and most importantly quality in mind. Keeping in mind the most traditional Italian techniques and pushing boundaries without fear of innovation".

At the award winning Criniti's restaurant, the pizzas are served piping hot from the wood fired oven with fresh buffalo mozzarella (optional) still bubbling on the top. If you wish to try something different but certainly the only of its kind in Sydney, sink your teeth into a Panzarotto. Pizza Fritta is a Neapolitan street food which enjoys a cult-like reverence amongst the locals. With smoked ham, tomato and mozzarella cheese sealed between two layers of pizza dough and deep-fried until crispy. If you've overdosed on pizza, Criniti's have an extensive menu, with steak, seafood, pasta, pollo and dozens of starters to choose from. Dessert anyone? You can't go past their famous nutella, apple crumble or banana pizzas. Yum!

With both indoor and outdoor seating, Criniti's makes for the perfect casual, yet sophisticated venue destination for all occasions. Whichever location you choose to visit you can be sure that quality, service and ambience remain uncompromised. The experience of sharing food with family & friends is one that is very sacred & should be cherished & remembered, which is why at Criniti’s we say, “when you’re here, you’re family…salute!”

INTRODUCING PIZZA AL METRO

THE FIRST OF ITS KIND IN AUSTRALIA

Criniti's yet again brings the taste of Italy to Sydney with the Pizza al Metro, an old Italian tradition dating back to the early nineteenth century from its birth town of Vico Equense, near the beautiful city of Sorrento, by Pizza Chef, Luigi Dell'Amura. The phenomenon of the Pizza al Metro naturally spread all throughout Italy & even Europe. Pizza al Metro, the first of its kind in Sydney, is made from the same wood fired crust Criniti’s has become famous for. It is served piping hot to your table on long wooden boards. Enjoy your pizza in 0.5, 1, 2 or 3 metre lengths, with the choice of up to 6 pizza varieties to share.

While the Pizza al Metro is made to share, pizza lovers are also invited to attempt the whole 1 metre of pizza to themselves with our Metro Mania challenge, or test their friendship with our 2, Mates, 2 Metres pizza challenge for the chance to EAT FREE for a year at Criniti’s!

PASTA FOR KIDS

criniti's charity initiative

Criniti’s is passionate about supporting local projects and charities. We currently support a number of community organisations and major charities including the Cancer Council Australia, Lifeline, The Breast Cancer Foundation, Beyond Blue and The Starlight Foundation.

Criniti’s Pasta for Kids is a fundraising program established to fund research into treatments and cures for genetic disorders, giving every child the opportunity to live a long and healthy life. For every Boscaiola ordered (our most popular pasta dish), $1 is donated to fund research into genetic disorders in support of The Jeans for Genes Foundation.
